The British Library Online Newspaper Archive is now available free at all Bedfordshire libraries. Currently for Bedfordshire the newspapers available are the ‘Bedfordshire Times’, the Biggleswade Chronicle’, the ‘Luton Times and Advertiser’ and the ‘Luton News & Beds Chronicle’. The dates covered are 1850-1999 but not every year is available. My understanding is that a whole year only becomes searchable when the complete year has been digitised.
Please note to use the resource you must be in a library either using a library computer or your own device using our WiFi (we offer free access to a WiFi at Bedford Central, Dunstable, Flitwick, Houghton Regis, Kempston, Leighton Buzzard, Potton, Putnoe and Sandy.)
For bound and microfilm local newspapers held in Bedfordshire Libraries, please see this link http://virtual-library.culturalservices.net/webingres/bedfordshire/vlib/0.local_studies/local_studies_newspapers.htm
