Want to know more about the history of Woburn and the Woburn Estate? Then come along for a countryside walk which will feature a tour of Woburn Heritage Centre and a guided walk through the deer park of Woburn Abbey. Learn about the development of the estate, how the grounds were established and the Abbey itself.
This will be a 2.5 mile circular walk lasting about 2 hours and mainly on footpaths – but bring some walking shoes, just in case it’s muddy! Please meet at the free car park in Woburn Village at 10 am, after introductions we expect to start the walk by 10.30 am. From there we will venture onwards towards the deer park and return to Woburn Village.
There are several places for lunch, such as the Black Horse and The Woburn. The Bell requires booking in advance, alternatively, you may wish to bring lunch. We plan to continue the day at Woburn Heritage Centre at 2 pm where we will be given an introduction to the centre and be allowed to browse and ask questions.
The charge for the day will be £9.50 per person to cover the guided walk and a small donation to the Heritage Centre.
Places will be reserved on a first come first received basis, 20 places are available per day.
Please book as soon as possible so that members can firm up the date in their diaries.
