Bedfordshire House History Research -1st March 2016 to 1st April 2016

As part of researching the history of a house, we source and collect a large range of vintage postcards, maps and photographs. To celebrate the advent of spring and the arrival of blossom on the trees, Bedfordshire House History Research is displaying a number of our original postcards, maps and prints of Bedford Park and The Embankment at the lovely ‘Pavillion in The Park’ Cafe http://pavilion.attheparkbedford.co.uk/ in Bedford Park.  All of the postcard and prints are framed and for sale – but as they are originals we only have one copy of each, so they are for sale on a first come first served basis. A particular favourite of mine is this picture below.

Bedford

The card was sent by Florrie to John in Clerkenwell, London to tell him what time to pick her up from Kings Cross, and to warn him that her bags were heavy. (Not everyone had a telephone in 1925).

Items will be on display from 1 March 2016 to 1 April 2016.
