We would be delighted to invite you and your group to the garden next year which will be a special one for us.
Did you know that the walled garden was designed by Capability Brown in the late 1760’s for Lord Bute? With the 300th anniversary of his birth in 2016 there is going to be a Study Day on April 6th which will reveal how our research has also discovered details about the unusual design of the garden and the botanical collection which it contained.
Details on how to book can be found on our website www.lutonhooestate.co.uk.
The garden has been revived by an enthusiastic team of volunteers and a wide range of research has been undertaken since the beginning of the project in 2001.
Open Wednesdays begin again on May 4th until September 28th from 1030-1530 when the volunteer gardeners and conservationists will be working and for the £5 entry fee guided tours are included of the garden. Tours of the Victorian farm buildings will also be available as will additional lunchtime talks on selected dates.
Light refreshments will be available as well as seasonal fruit and vegetable produce and plants from the garden.
Group tours can be pre-booked on Wednesdays giving you a private tour guide and an more personalised experience. Coaches are welcome in our spacious car park.
Illustrated talks can be given on aspects of the history of the estate in the venue of your choice.
